Restylane has a very low potential to cause allergic reactions and eliminates any risk of infections derived from animal sources. Hence no pre-testing is necessary meaning that your treatment can be initiated more quickly.

Restylane is injected under the skin after applying a local anaesthetic cream to numb the skin, these gently lift the lines and wrinkles of your face and smooth folds and creases, they can also be used to enhance the shape, fullness and contours of your lips.

Effectiveness
The effect of this treatment is usually immediate and can be used to remove the wrinkles from around the forehead, eyes and mouth. The effects last between 6 and 12 months depending upon the place being treated and individual response.

Muscle relaxing agents, which freeze the muscles causing lines and wrinkles and prevent them creasing the skin, are very effective. These agents are injected just below the skin. They block the nerve signals to the muscles which allows the skin to recover its natural shape over several weeks giving you a smooth, fresh and unstressed appearance.

Lines and wrinkles around the eyes, the forehead, mouth and neck can be treated using "relaxing agents".

The effect of this take several days to start appearing and their full effects may not be seen for 2-3 weeks. Although you will probably notice improvements after the first 72 hours. These agents last around 3-6 months on average but there is some variation from person to person.
